So I have a collarspace profile and I am getting inundated with messages from fake profiles asking that I respond to a gmail address. What is it about the gmail platform that makes scammers use it exclusively. Its always a gmail account...never anything else.

Are they trying to access contact lists or does gmail have a vulnerability that allows them to gain access to my computer or phone?

I don't think there's a vulnerability.

They probably use it because it's solid, easy to sign up for, and anonymous.

Based on reading your past posts, you seem pretty tech savvy so I would defer to you to speak on these matters. However, almost every email free platform requires cell phone confirmation to register an email account including gmail. So if you say its anonymous Ill take your word for it but I didnt think anything was really anonymous anymore.

The email doesn't have to come from an gmail account. A tech savvy person can spoof the email address to make it appear as though it does. Since Gmail is the most popular email address these days it would cause the least suspicion.

For anyone who has collarspace, you likely receive on a daily basis the following email format from scammers:

Hello I am Goddess Scarlett . I am looking for a sub who wants to serve Me, are you willing to serve Me? and I am looking for devoted and obedient slave who is fit enough and ready to serve and to be humiliated as my slave. If you are a vanilla, i am willing to train and open your world in the BDSM lifestyle. You can email me at gmail at scarlettfowler00@gmail.com or on hangouts,

Thanks, but I signed up for my gmail many years ago, so I might not be in the loop about what they require now.

I'll agree that nobody is truly anonymous any more, but I have a Yahoo, Gmail, and AOL e-mail accounts and none have required a cell phone number to register. There are long-standing accounts so maybe that's changed for those registering new accounts now. They all encourage you to register a cell phone number with the excuse that it will help you to retrieve a lost password, but I've never added a phone number to any of my e-mail accounts.

That's true too. Not that I get any porm spam phone calls, but it's the same thing with caller ID. It's pretty common to set up a robo-caller to display a phone number that has the sane area code and exchange as the number they're calling so that someone with caller ID who doesn't recognize the number or name might answer anyway thinking it might be a neighbor or school.

The best way to have privacy is to have no Internet access and no cell phone, and never look at your mail. Second best is to learn to recognize it (it's not that hard) and just ignore it. Delete that e-mail, don't answer that phone call, and toss that envelope right in the trash. What are the chances that you're throwing away a $100,000 prize . . . or a free blow job? Pretty slim.

Agreed the only time I answer my phone without recognising the number is when I am expecting a call which is rare. Junk mail goes right in the garbage without opening. Email can be trickier because on the face it may look like it's from a legitimate source but I'll always go to a legitimate website rather then click on a link. Still you've always got to be vigilant.
